The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve signed K/P Kaare Vedvik to a futures contract for the 2020 season.
Here’s the Bills’ updated list of futures signings:
- TE Nate Becker
- LB Tyrel Dodson
- WR Nick Easley
- CB Cam Lewis
- WR Ray-Ray McCloud
- LB Del’shawn Phillips
- T Victor Salako
- RB Christian Wade
- QB Davis Webb
- DE Jonathan Woodard
- K/P Kaare Vedvik
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Vedvik, 25, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Marshall back in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $570,000 for the 2019 season.
The Ravens traded Vedvik to the Vikings for a fifth-round pick, but he was cut loose after only a few weeks. New York claimed Vedvik off of waivers before waiving him a few weeks into the regular season.
Vedvik later signed on to the Bears’ practice squad in December.
During his college career at Marshall, Vedvik converted 10 of 16 field goal attempts (62.5 percent) to go along with 41 of 42 extra point tries (97.6 percent) over the course of 26 games.
