The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday that they’ve signed S L.J. McCray and LB Xavier Woodson-Luster to futures contracts for the 2018 season.
As of now, the Bills have signed 12 players to futures deals including:
- WR Rod Streater
- WR Quan Bray
- P Corey Carter
- TE Jason Croom
- RB Aaron Green
- OT Josh James
- DE Marquavius Lewis
- S Dean Marlowe
- C Adam Redmond
- OT DeโOndre Wesley
- S L.J. McCray
- LB Xavier Woodson-Luster
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
McCray, 25, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Catawba back in May of 2014. The 49ers elected to trade him to the Seahawks coming out of the preseason for aย conditional 2018ย seventh-round pick but he failed a physical and was later waived.
The Panthers signed him to a futures deal last January only to cut him loose at the start of the regular season. McCray eventually signed on to the Bills’ practice squad and finished out the year in Buffalo.
In 2015, McCray recorded five tackles over the course of eight games.
