Bills HC Doug Marrone told reporters on Monday that they are in the process of signing veteran S Jim Leonhard, per Mike Rodak.
Leonhard was just recently cut loose by the Saints, but has played in DC Mike Pettine’s defensive system while they were with the Jets organization.
Pro Bowl S Jairus Byrd is reportedly dealing with plantar fasciitis and appears to be doubtful for Week 1’s matchup against the Patriots.
Leonhard, 30, most likely isn’t anymore than a stop-gap option for the Bills.
