The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran CB Captain Munnerlyn to a contract on Saturday, according to Mike Garafolo.
- The Bills confirmed the news and announced the signing of DT Roderick Young and OL Demetrius Rhaney.
- Buffalo also placed CB E.J. Gaines and DT Robert Thomas on injured reserve and waived OL Nico Siragusa.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills tried out Munnerlyn and fellow CB Coty Sensabaugh today.
Munnerlyn has ties to Bills HC Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane from their time together in Carolina.
Munnerlyn, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Panthers back in 2009. He spent five years in Carolina before signing a three-year, $11.25 million with the Vikings back in 2014.
Munnerlyn elected to return to the Panthers for the 2017 season when he agreed to a four-year, $21 million contract. However, Carolina cut him loose this past February.
In 2018, Munnerlyn appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 47 tackles, two sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 83 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
Siragusa, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $3.02 million contract with Baltimore but suffered torn ACL, MCL and PCL during the 2017 preseason.
The Ravens later waived Siragusa at the start of last year and he was eventually signed off of their practice squad by the Packers.
Green Bay waived him in April and he caught on with the Colts last month. Indianapolis elected to cut him loose soon after and he recently signed on with the Bills.
During his college career at San Diego State, Siragusa was a three-year starter at left guard and was a first-team All-Mountain West as a junior and senior.
