McCoy, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. After six years in Philadelphia, McCoy was traded to the Bills, who later signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed.
McCoy was set to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.075 million over the next two years of the agreement.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing McCoy will free up $6,425,000 of available cap space while creating $2,625,000 in dead money.
In 2018, McCoy has appeared in 12 games for the Bills and rushed for 479 yards on 145 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 210 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Munnerlyn, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Panthers back in 2009. He spent five years in Carolina before signing a three-year, $11.25 million with the Vikings back in 2014.
Munnerlyn elected to return to the Panthers for the 2017 season when he agreed to a four-year, $21 million contract. However, Carolina cut him loose this past February and he just recently signed on with the Bills.
In 2018, Munnerlyn appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 47 tackles, two sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 83 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.
Towbridge, 23, signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville in 2017. He was placed on injured reserve with an injury for his rookie year, then spent 2018 on the practice squad after being released in final roster cutdowns.
Towbridge joined the Atlanta Legends of the AAF this spring, playing in seven games for the Atlanta Legends and totaling 17 receptions for 196 yards.
The Titans signed Towbridge to a contract back in April before waiving him. He was later claimed off waivers by the Bills.
