Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports that the Buffalo Bills are making an effort to get free-agent QB Josh McCown under contract.

According to Carucci, McCown could have an agreement in place with McCown by tomorrow. However, Carucci adds that the number of teams in on McCown is currently unknown.

Carucci can’t say whether or not the Bills are considered the front-runners for McCown at this point in time, but his source did said that they are “very much in the hunt” to land McCown.

McCown has reportedly met with the Browns, Bears and Jets since he was released by the Buccaneers.

However, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reported last night that McCown wrapped up his visit with the Browns on Wednesday without signing a contract.

McCown, 35, threw for 2,206 yards while completing 56.3 percent of his passes to go along with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 quarterback out of 39 qualifying players.
