Blake Bortles Or Johnny Manziel Could Be Drafted Ahead Of Teddy Bridgewater ?

Peter King of MMQB.com reports that “a team that could take a quarterback in the first round” has informed him that Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater is no lock to be the first quarterback drafted next year.

I know one team that, as of now, thinks it’s no sure thing Teddy Bridgewater will be the top quarterback on its board,” writes King. “Moreover, this team believes Central Florida’s Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel could be the top quarterback on the board.”

King is obviously one of the most well-connected reporters covering the game, so this is actually a pretty interesting note regarding where things currently stand, at least in the mind of this team.

The NFL Draft process really hasn’t even began, but the general consensus as of now is that Bridgewater would be the first quarterback to come off the board, possibly at No. 1 overall. Both Bridgewater and Bortles are underclassmen, so we are still awaiting for an official word regarding their intentions for the draft.

Bortles has led the UCF Knights to the Fiesta Bowl where they will take on the Baylor Bears in a highly anticipated matchup.

We have Bridgewater going to the Texans No. 1 overall, Manziel being take by the Jaguars at No. 6 and Bortles coming off the board at No. 7 to the Browns in our 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
