Brandon Stokley tells Mike Klis of the Denver Post that he will retire for the NFL following the 2014 season.
“I’m glad I played this year because now I know I’m done,” Stokley said. “Had I not played this year I would have always felt I could have kept playing. I still know I can play but my body just can’t go through it anymore.”
Stokley, 37, signed with the Ravens earlier this year, but was unfortunately placed on season-ending injured reserve after he sustained a concussion. The fact that he decided to call it a career isn’t all that surprising given he has suffered numerous such injuries during his 15 seasons in the NFL.
He finishes his career with 397 receptions, 5,339 yards receiving and 39 touchdowns.
