Cowboys Signing WR Allen Hurns To Two-Year, $12M Deal

Former Jaguars WR Allen Hurns tells Josina Anderson: “I’m going to sign with Dallas.

  • Adam Schefter confirms the news and adds that Hurns receives a two-year contract from the Cowboys.
  • Pro Football Talk reports that Hurns’ two-year contract is worth $12 million.

Hurns met with the Cowboys and Jets in recent days, but with New York signing Terrelle Pryor to a contract yesterday, it appears as though Hurns felt Dallas was the best fit for him.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Hurns to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Hurns, 26, signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2014. He was in the final year of his rookie contract when the Jaguars signed him to a five-year, $40.6 million deal that included $20 million guaranteed in 2016.

Hurns was set to make base salaries of $6.9 million and $7.9 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Jaguars released him in a move that freed up $7 million of available cap space.

In 2017, Hurns appeared in 10 games for the Jaguars and caught 39 passes for 484 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
