According to Adam Schefter, the Cowboys and OT La’el Collins have agreed to a five-year extension.
Per Mike Garafolo, the deal includes $50 million in new money, with the first two years fully guaranteed and $35 million in total guarantees.
Collins said earlier this summer he would love to finish his career in Dallas. Despite several notable players to sign to long-term extensions, the Cowboys were able to offer Collins enough money to lock him up long-term.
Collins, 25, wound up going undrafted out of LSU due to an unfortunate set of circumstances. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.599 million contract with the Cowboys.
Dallas eventually signed Collins to a three-year, $16.016 million contract and he stands to make a base salary of $6.51 million for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Collins appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys, making 16 starts at right tackle. Pro Football Focus rated Collins as the No. 31 offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.
