Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Gerald McCoy on a three-year deal.
According to Mike Garafolo, McCoy is expected to sign a three-year deal in the range of $20 million, which means he’ll make over $6 million per year.
McCoy was one of the best defensive tackles still available in this year’s market and should be a great addition for the Cowboys’ defensive front.
McCoy, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He was in the fifth year of his seven-year, $95.2 million contract and set to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019 when the Buccaneers released him last June.
The Panthers later signed McCoy to a one-year deal worth around $8.5 million.
In 2019, McCoy appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 37 tackles, five sacks and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 30 interior defensive lineman out of 114 qualifying players.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
