Adam Schefter reports that the Lions are finalizing a contract with former Packers DT Mike Daniels on Friday.
According to Schefter, Daniels receives a one-year, $9.1 million deal that includes $7.8 million fully guaranteed from the Lions.
Daniels visited with the Browns on Thursday and reportedly had drawn some interest from the Chiefs and Patriots.
However, Daniels will remain in the NFC North and get an opportunity to play his old team twice a year.
The Lions interior defensive line depth was already pretty strong, so this is an interesting addition that will give them a quality rotation in 2018.
Daniels, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2012. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $41.66 million contract and set to make a base salary of $7.6 million for the 2019 season when the Packers released him.
In 2018, Daniels appeared in 10 games for the Packers and recorded 18 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense.
