According to Adam Schefter, the Panthers and RT Taylor Moton have agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal with less than an hour to go until today’s franchise tag deadline.
Schefter adds the deal includes $43 million guaranteed for Moton. The team also officially confirmed the deal.

The two sides had been continuing to talk, but a deal had been characterized as a longshot by other reporters as recently as 3 PM EST.
The Saints just signed RT Ryan Ramczyk to a five-year, $96 million extension that included $60 million guaranteed to make him the highest-paid right tackle in the NFL. This deal slots in just below that.
Carolina franchised Moton several months ago and would have been on the hook for $13.754 fully guaranteed this season if they couldn’t get an extension in place.
Moton, 27, was drafted by the Panthers in the second round out of Western Michigan in 2017. He’s set to be an unrestricted free agent after finishing his four-year, $4.158 million rookie deal that paid him a base salary of $1.032 million last season.
In 2020, Moton appeared in all 16 games at right tackle for the Panthers. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 13 overall tackle out of 79 players.
We had him included in our Top 50 – 2022 Free Agents list.
