Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Raiders and OLย Kelechi Osemele have reached an agreement in principle.
- Getlin reports thatย Osemele’s deal with the Raiders will pay himย $11.7ย millionย per year and hasย a max value of $12 million.
- According to Getlin, the contract is a five-year deal worth a max value of $60 million.
- Rapoport mentions that the Vikings and Jets were interested inย Osemele, but the bidding got “too rich” for them.
The expectation has been thatย Osemele will end up being the highest paid guard in the NFL at $10 million per year in his next contract.
Previous reports hadย said that the Raiders wereย likely spend big on the players they like a lot and with offensive line being oneย area that they’re looking for spend, it makes sense to see them go hard after a guy likeย Osemele.

In 2015,ย Osemele has appeared in 14ย games for the Ravens and isย rated byย Pro Football Focus as the No. 18ย offensive tackleย out of 77ย qualifying players.
We hadย him featuredย in ourย Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
