ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Titans areย finalizing deal for Eagles RB DeMarco Murray.
- According to Schefter, the trade is expected to be completeย on Wednesday.
Murray was clearly on the trading block for a few months now, and the Eagles have been working to move on from the Chip Kelly era as fast as possible.
However, it’s somewhat surprising that they managed to find a tacker for him after a disappointing 2015 season.
Murray, 27, isย entering the second year of his five-year, $40 million contractย that includedย $21 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries ofย $7 million (2016), $7.5 million (2017), andย $7.5 million (2018-2019) over the remainder of the contract.
According toย OverTheCap.com, trading Murray willย free up $4 millionย in available cap space for the Eagles while creating $4 million in dead money.
In 2015, Murray ran for 702 yards on 193 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 322 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 66 running backย out of 68 qualifying players.
