The Denver Broncos have officially exercised CBย Bradley Roby’s fifth-year option on Monday, according to Albert Breer.
The fifth-year option will run the Broncos around $8.526 million for the 2018 season, but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.
Roby, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $6.95 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,018,072 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Roby appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 39 tackles, one sack, two interceptions both returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble and eight pass defenses.
