Broncos Sign QB Jeff Driskel To Two-Year Deal

Update:

Nicki Jhabvala reports that the Broncos have reached an agreement with QB Jeff Driskel on a two-year deal.

Mike Klis of 9 News reports that the Broncos are expected to sign Lions QB Jeff Driskel as their backup quarterback.

According to Klis, the Broncos had interest in QB A.J. McCarron before he returned to the Texans. However, Driskel’s athleticism is seen as a better fit for the Broncos’ offense and as a complement to Drew Lock.

Driskel, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016. He was waived by the 49ers at the start of the 2016 season and was later claimed off of waivers by the Bengals.

Cincinnati placed Driskel on injured reserve coming out of this year’s preseason and signed on with the Lions in September.

In 2019, Driskel appeared in three games and recorded 62 completions on 105 pass attempts (59.0 percent) for 685 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions.
