Broncos Unlikely To Trade CB Chris Harris?

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Broncos almost had a deal done to trade away CB Chris Harris, but for now the team doesn’t believe they will be moving him.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported earlier that Harris told her earlier concerning a trade that “I doubt it happens.”

Denver still has until Tuesday, October 29, to find a trade partner for Harris. The Broncos are 2-5 and appear to be selling off veterans after trading WR Emmanuel Sanders to the 49ers yesterday.

Harris is entering the final year of his deal and is reportedly receiving “lots of interest.”

Harris, 30, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.

Harris was entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season when Denver signed him to a new, one-year, $12.05 million deal this offseason.

In 2019, Harris has appeared in four games for the Broncos and recorded 12 total tackles, no interceptions and one pass defense.

We’ll have more on Harris and the Broncos as the news is available.

  1. Your info on his stats is wrong. He’s played in all their games and Im has one INT. I’m sure his tackles and pass defended is higher too. You pulled for there CB Harris on the team.
