The Denver Broncos will place CBย Chris Harris on injured reserve Wednesday with a fractured leg, according to Troy Renck.
The Broncos also announced that they’ve signed CB Craig Mager.
Denver planned on carrying Harris on their active roster in the hope he could return this season, but with the team no longer in the playoff mix, it makes sense to shut him down for the year.
Harris, 29, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.
Harris is in the fourth year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and stands to make base salaries of $7.4 million and $7.8 million over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Harris has appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 48 tackles, one sack, three interceptions returned for a touchdown and 10 pass defenses.
