Broncos Sign OT Demar Dotson To One-Year Deal Worth Up To $3M

Update:

Mike Klis reports that Broncos’ new OT Demar Dotson is signing a one-year deal worth up to $3 million through incentives.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Broncos signed veteran OT Demar Dotson to a contract on Tuesday.

The Broncos brought Dotson in for a visit a few days ago, so they were clearly impressed enough to get a deal done following his physical and screening.

There is no question the Broncos could use some tackle depth after Ja’Wuan James recently opted out of the 2020 season.

Dotson, 34, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss back in 2011. He was in the final year of his four-year, $7.5 million contract when he agreed to a four-year, $18.25 million contract that includes $8.5 million guaranteed with the Buccaneers back in 2016.

The Buccaneers picked up Dotson’s 2019 option last year and made a base salary of $4.725 million. He has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent since March.

In 2019, Dotson appeared in 15 games for the Buccaneers and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 31 offensive tackle out of 82 qualifying players.

We have him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
