Mike Garafolo reports that the Broncos are signing free-agent P Sam Martin to a three-year, $7.05 million deal.
Martin, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions out of Appalachian State back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year rookie contract when he signed a four-year, $13.6 million extension with the Lions in 2016.
He finished his contract and was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2019, Martin appeared in all 16 games and recorded 76 punt attempts for 3,445 total yards (45.3 YPP), seven touchbacks, 31 punts inside the 20-yard line, and a long of 62 yards. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 23 overall punter out of 30 qualifying players.
