Broncos Signing RT Ja’Wuan James To Four-Year, $52M Deal

Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos are signing former Dolphins RT Ja’Wuan James to a four-year, $52 million contract that includes $32 million guaranteed.

The Raiders reportedly had interest in James before agreeing to a big-money deal with Trent Brown.

However, this is a big addition for the Broncos, as James has been one of the top right tackles in the game.

James, 26, was taken with the No. 19 overall pick by the Dolphins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.4 million contract and made a base salary of $1,569,327 for the 2017 season.

The Dolphins elected to pick up James’ fifth-year option for the 2018 season and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2018, James appeared in 15 games for the Dolphins and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 34 offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
