The Broncos announced they’ve waived WR Aaron Burbridge on Wednesday.
Burbridge did not report to Broncos training camp and has reportedly decided to retire.
Injuries have kept Burbridge off the field the past two seasons. The Broncos signed him to a futures deal earlier this offseason.
Burbridge, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2016 out of Michigan State.
He managed to make the 53-man roster in his first season in San Francisco. He was waived from injured reserve with a settlement in a few weeks into the 2018 season.
From there, Burbridge was signed to the 49ers’ practice squad before they eventually cut him loose in November.
In 2016, the only year Burbridge saw NFL action, he appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and caught seven passes for 88 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
