Broncos Will Go With Brock Osweiler In Hail Mary Situations

Mike Klis of the Denver Post writes that the Broncos would have used rookie QB Brock Osweiler instead of Peyton Manning if they were in a Hail Mary situation against the Falcons.

“I was going in for the Hail Mary,” Osweiler said. “I’m not sure what the dividing line was as far as me going in, but I was getting ready to go in.”

Obviously, the Broncos didn’t even get a chance to throw a Hail Mary pass, but this is a clear indication that the team is well aware of Manning’s arm limitations.Manning seemed to float a few passes over the middle, which afforded the Falcons enough time to break on the ball and come away with a 3 picks in the first quarter.

It’s also worth noting that arm strength is one of Osweiler biggest assets, so it’s really not that surprising that they would use him in this type of situation.
