Mike Daniels Leaves Browns Visit Without Deal

Update:

Free agent DT Mike Daniels left his visit with the Browns without a contract on Thursday, according to Nate Ulrich

According to Adam Schefter, free agent DL Mike Daniels will visit the Browns in his first stop after being released by the Packers.

The Browns also had interest earlier this offseason in signing Panthers DT Gerald McCoy, so Daniels could solidify the interior defensive line for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

Daniels reportedly wants to play for a contender and is also expected to draw interest from the Chiefs and Patriots.

For what it’s worth, the Browns have a number of former Packers executives and some coaches on their staff, which could help win Daniels over.

Daniels, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2012. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $41.66 million contract and set to make a base salary of $7.6 million for the 2019 season when the Packers released him.

In 2018, Daniels appeared in 10 games for the Packers and recorded 18 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense.
