According to Ian Rapoport, Browns LB Christian Kirksey will have season-ending chest surgery on his torn pectoral muscle.
Kirksey had been placed on injured reserve with the thought that he could rehab and return from the injury later in the season. However, that’s no longer a possibility.
Kirksey, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $3.04 million contract when he agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $38 million and includes $20 million guaranteed.
Kirksey stands to make base salaries of $7 million and $7.75 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2019, Kirksey appeared in two games and recorded 11 tackles for the Browns.
