Browns Open To Trading QB Tyrod Taylor

Sources have told Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com that the Browns will listen to trade offers for backup QB Tyrod Taylor in the days leading up to the deadline.

Breer believes Taylor’s contract structure may actually make a deal workable, seeing as he’s making $16 million this year, but $6 million of this figure was paid out as a roster bonus back in March. With this in mind, a team looking to acquire Taylor would have to pay $5.29 million for the remainder of the season.

Taylor, 28, is a former sixth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. After four years in Baltimore, Taylor signed on with the Bills for the 2015 season. Buffalo elected to trade Taylor to the Browns for a third-round pick this past March.

Taylor is entering the final year of a two-year, $30.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $10 million next season.

In 2018, Taylor has appeared in three games and thrown for 462 yards while completing 48.8 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.
