On Thursday, Browns GM John Dorsey told reporters at the Combine that he’s open to everything including trading the No. 1 overall pick.
โThereโs a lot of things I can do at No. 1 and not just get a quarterback,โ Dorsey said, via Pro Football Talk. โMy door is wide open if somebody wants to come up and talk to me about a trade, Iโm willing to trade. But also Iโm going to do whatโs best for this organization, and I will do that.โ
Dorsey explained that the would also consider moving the No. 4 overall pick and welcomes calls from interested teams.
โAny good G.M. wants to field phone calls from all of his peers. Why wouldnโt I?โ Dorsey said. โThatโs why I say, โGive me a call and see whatโs up.’โ
Cleveland is widely expected to use the top pick on a quarterback prospect. Dorsey admitted that this is a crucial offseason for his team.
โAs an organization, we understand this is a pivotal offseason for us,โ Dorsey said. โWe have really done our due diligence in laying out a plan, and I feel really good about that plan moving forward.โ
We’ll have more regarding the Browns possibly moving their first-round picks as the news is available.
