The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve placedย LB Christian Kirksey and DB E.J. Gaines on injured reserve and signed DBย Juston Burris off of the Jets’ practice squad.
- The Browns also signed DB Arrion Springs to their practice squad and released OL Jake Eldrenkamp from the unit.

Kirksey, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $3.04 million contract when he agreed to aย four-year contract extension worth $38 million and includes $20 million guaranteed.
Kirksey stands to make base salaries ofย $5 million and $7 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Kirksey appeared in seven games for the Browns and recorded 43 tackles, no sacks, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses.
Burris, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jets back in 2016. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.89 million contract when the Jets waived him a few weeks ago.
The Jets re-signed Burris to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.
In 2018, Burris has appeared in four games for the Jets, but has yet to record a statistic.
