Browns Place Five On COVID-19 List, Promote Three

Update:

The Cleveland Browns announced Saturday that they’ve placed WR Rashard Higgins, WR KhaDarel Hodge, WR Jarvis Landry, WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and LB Jacob Phillips on the COVID-19 list.

The Browns also promoted WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, LB Montrel Meander and WR Derrick Willies to their active roster.

Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen are reporting that Browns WRs Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins and Donovan People-Jones have been deemed High-Risk-Close-Contacts.

Schefter adds that the Browns are awaiting further instruction but all three now could be out for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Mary Kay Cabot confirms the news and adds that all three are being placed on the COVID-19 list and adds that WR KhaDarel Hodge and LB Jacob Phillips will join them.

The game is, however, still on for Sunday.

Browns LB B.J. Goodson tested positive earlier in the day and the team has been doing contact tracing to see if they’ll need to hold players out.

Landry, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract when Miami traded him to the Browns in 2018.

Cleveland later signed Landry to a five-year, $75M extension with $47M guaranteed.

In 2020, Landry has appeared in 14 games for the Browns and caught 67 passes for 789 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
