Browns Promote LB Jayson DiManche, Place WR Andrew Hawkins On I.R.

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that theyโ€™ve promoted LB Jayson DiManche to their active roster and placed WR Andrew Hawkins on season-ending injured reserve.

  • The Browns also signed OL Conor Boffeli to their practice squad.

DiManche, 24, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois back in 2013. He was waived/injured during the first round of roster cuts and eventually released from injured reserve with a settlement.

The Browns wound up signing DiManche off of the Bengals practice squad a few months ago, but later signed on to the Browns practice squad.

This season, DiManche has appeared in one game, but didnโ€™t record a single statistic.

Hawkins, 29, is in the second year of his  four-year, $13.6 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed. Heโ€™ll make a base salary of $2.3 million this season to go along with $2.5 million in 2016 and: $2.6 million in 2017.

This season, Hawkins appeared in eight games and caught 27 passes for 276 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Browns.
