Browns Roster Cuts Including QB Thad Lewis

The Browns have released veteran QB Thad Lewis, as they trim their roster down 53 players by today’s deadline.

Other Browns’ roster cuts include:

• DT Jacobbi McDaniel
• CB Joe Rankin
• WR Josh Lenz
• CB Robert Nelson

Lewis, 27, hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he was playing for the Buffalo Bills.

The Cleveland Browns have begun the process of cutting their roster down to 53 players on Saturday with the release of DT Jacobbi McDaniel, according to Aaron Wilson.

McDaniel, 25, signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in May of last year. He has been on and off the team’s practice squad.

Cleveland later signed him to a future/reserve contract towards the end of last year.
