The Cleveland Browns announced that they’veย signed LB Cam Johnson to their practice squad on Tuesday.
- The Browns released DLย Kelcy Quarlesย from the practice squad to make room forย Johnson.
Cleveland’s practice squad consists of:
- LB Cam Johnson
- QBย Matt Blanchard
- DB Kendall James
- WR Darius Jennings
- OT Andrew McDonald
- OT Darrian Miller
- LB Hayes Pullard
- DB De’Ante Saunders
- DE Dylan Winn
- G Garth Gerhart
The Browns broughtย Johnson in for a workout last week along withย LBย Jayson DiManche and DL Capย Capi, so was clearly on their radar.
Johnson, 25, is a formerย seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2012.ย He was unfortunately unable to make the 53-man roster in his rookie season, but later signed to their practice squad.
San Francisco wound up sending him to the Colts in return for 2015 conditional seventh-round pick that became Geoff Swaim.
Indianapolis elected to re-sign Johnson to an exclusive rights tender back in March before waiving him as they cut their roster down to 75 players.
