The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve signed rookie DL Blaine Woodson to a contract.
This is notable given that free agent DT Johnathan Hankins also worked out for the Browns today, but it appears as though the Browns felt it was best to go with Woodson.
Woodson, 22, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware back in May. Unfortunately, he lasted just a few months in San Francisco before the team placed him on waivers before the start of training camp.
During his college career at Delaware, Woodson recorded 152 tackles, a pass defense, 14.5 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception over the course of four seasons.
