Browns Signing TE Demetrius Harris On Two-Year Deal

According to Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns plan to sign former Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris on a two-year deal.

Schefter adds that the Browns have signed Harris a two-year, $6 million deal that includes $3.25 million. guaranteed

The Browns were in the market for a backup tight end after releasing TE Darren Fells earlier this week.

Harris, 27, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of UW-Milwaukee back in 2014. He signed a three-year, $6.3 million contract with the Chiefs back in 2016 and he made a base salary of $1.75 million for the 2018 season.

Harris was suspended one game in 2018 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

In 2018, Harris caught 12 passes for 164 yards (13.7 YPC) and scored three touchdowns.  Pro Football Focus ranked Harris as the No. 44 tight end out of 70 qualifying players.
