Browns HC Kevin Stefanski announced Monday that Shedeur Sanders will be the team’s starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
Stefanski mentioned that Sanders has consistently gotten better in his starts and they feel good about where his development is heading.
The Browns have four games remaining, so that should be a solid sample of time for them to get a feel for Sanders possibly returning as their starter in 2026.
Sanders, 23, was a two-year starter at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado before the 2023 season, following his father and coach, former NFL star Deion Sanders. He started two more years at Colorado before declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Browns traded up to select Sanders with the No. 144 overall pick in the fifth round. He’s projected to sign a four-year, $4.646 million rookie contract that includes a $447,380 signing bonus.
four games and completed 52.4 percent of his passes for 769 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also rushed for a touchdown and 50 yards.
