Browns Targeting Gary Kubiak As Offensive Coordinator?

According to Pro Football Talk, there’s buzz in NFL circles that the Browns could soon make a “big name hire” for their offensive coordinator job.

PFT says that some around the league are keeping an eye on Gary Kubiak for the Browns’ coordinator job.

Last we heard regarding Kubiak, Adam Schefter reported that while he will not be the Broncos’ offensive coordinator in 2019, as many expected, Kubiak is still interested in taking a coordinator job with an NFL team.

According to Schefter, the Jaguars are among the teams with interest in hiring Kubiak as their offensive coordinator.

Kubiak, 57, began his NFL coaching career with the 49ers back in 1994 as their QBs coach and later took over as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator/QBs coach the following year. The Texans hired him as their head coach in 2006 and he spent eight years in Houston.

The Ravens hired him as their offensive coordinator in 2014 but he spent just a year in Baltimore before he was hired as the Broncos head coach. Kubiak stepped down as Broncos head coach after the 2016 season due to health issues and has served as a senior personnel adviser for Denver the past few seasons.

For his career, Kubiak’s teams posted a record of 82-75 (52.2 percent) to go along with three playoff appearances including a Super Bowl championship in 2015.
