Browns Waive WR David Richards

The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they’ve placed WR David Richards on waivers.

This move creates a roster spot for K Patrick Murray, who signed to a contract today.

Richards faced long odds of the making the deep after the Browns brought in a very deep class of rookie receivers, including five draft picks.

Richards originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona just a few days after this year’s NFL Draft. However, he was cut loose two days later.

Th Browns signed him to a contract a few weeks ago, so his stay in Cleveland was obviously short lived.

During his four-year college career at Arizona, Richards recorded 109 receptions for 1,204 yards receiving (11 YPR) and 11 touchdowns.
