According to Aaron Wilson, the Browns brought in offensive players for workouts on Wednesday, including QB Joe Callahan and RB Keith Ford.
The full list of tryouts includes:
- QB Joe Callahan
- QB Eric Dungey
- RB Keith Ford
- WR Keith Mumphery
- WR Damoun Patterson
Callahan, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Wesley College back in May of 2016. He was able to make the 53-man roster as the teamโs No. 3 quarterback coming out of the preseason but was later cut loose.
Callahan had brief stints with the Saints and Browns before returning to the Packers during the 2016 season. The Packers re-signed Callahan as an exclusive rights free agent during the offseason, but he was later waived and signed by the Eagles.
Unfortunately, Callahan was among the Eagles’ roster cuts coming out of the preseason. He later signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers back in January but was waived in April.
In 2017, Callahan appeared in one game for the Packers and recorded five completions on seven attempts (71.4 percent) for 11 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Ford, 25, signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2018. He was waived coming out of the preseason, but signed to the Bills practice squad before earning a call up to the active roster late in the season.
The Colts signed Ford to a contract earlier this offseason only to cut him loose last month. The Packers quickly claimed him off waivers but was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
In 2018, Ford appeared in two games for the Bills and rushed 21 times for 79 yards (3.8 YPC) with no touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 21 yards.
