Buccaneers Claim Khaseem Greene & Waive S M.D. Jennings

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed LB Khaseem Greene off of waivers from the Bears and placed S M.D. Jennings on waivers.

Jennings’ release correlates with the addition of S D.J. Swearinger, who was claimed off of waivers from the Texans on Tuesday.

Jennings, 26, spent three years with the Packers and actually played in 47 out of 48 games during this time. However, Jennings struggled mightily in coverage, so he’s really a work in progress.

The Buccaneers signed Jennings to a future/reserve contract several months ago. Jennings didn’t appear in a single game during the 2014 season.

Greene, 26, still had two years remaining on his four-year, $2.592 million rookie contract and would have made base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the final two years.

In 2014, Greene appeared in 10 games for the Bears and recorded 17 tackles.
