Jenna Laine of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers are promoting WR Bobo Wilson to their active roster on Friday following the news that WR DeSean Jackson is out for Week 13.
The Buccaneers confirmed the move and announced that they’ve waived RB Dare Ogunbowale.
Wilson, 23, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in 2017. He was waiving coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
The Buccaneers promoted Wilson to their active roster towards the end of last season, but once again waived him at the start of the 2018 regular season. He later re-signed to their taxi squad after clearing waivers.
In 2018, Wilson appeared in three games for the Buccaneers and caught one pass for 18 yards receiving and a touchdown. He also rushed for eight yards on three carries.
Ogunbowale, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in May of last year. The Texans cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.
After being released by Houston, Ogunbowale had a brief stint with the Buccaneers before eventually signing on to the Redskins’ practice squad. The Redskins called him up a few weeks later only to cut him loose in March.
Ogunbowale has been on and off of the Buccaneers’ roster this year.
In 2018, Ogunbowale has appeared in two games for the Buccaneers and totaled 137 kick return yards.
