Buccaneers QB Josh McCown Expected To Miss “Several Weeks”

Alex Marvez of Fox Sports reports that after undergoing a second test on his injured thumb, Buccaneers QB Josh McCown is expected to miss “several weeks.”

Reports from earlier in the day mentioned that McCown had a thumb sprain and could be one or two weeks, but it appears as though this timeline was conservative.

Mike Glennon took over McCown Thursday night and completed 17-of-24 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown during their blowout loss to the Falcons.

McCown, 35, signed a two-year, $10 million contract that includes another $5 million is incentives. He has a base salary of $4.75 million for the 2014 season and another $5.25 million coming his way next year.
