The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed CB David Rivers to their practice squad and released CB Jonathan Moxey from the unit.
The Buccaneers’ practice squad now consists of:
- LB Riley Bullough
- RB Russell Hansbrough
- FB Austin Johnson (Exception)
- S Isaiah Johnson
- OL Mike Liedtke
- T Marquis Lucas (Injured)
- WR Freddie Martino (Exception)
- LB Eric Nzeocha (International)
- WR Bobo Wilson
- OT Justin Murray
- DT Channing Ward
- CB David Rivers
Rivers signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State back in May. Green Bay elected to waive him last with an injury designation to make room for CB Daquan Holmes.
The Packers later placed him on injured reserve after he passed through waivers unclaimed and he was eventually waived with a settlement. The same situation happened with the Jets a few months later.
During his two-year college career at Youngstown State, Rivers recorded 45 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, 13 pass defenses, and one forced fumble.
