Buccaneers Signing RB Kerwynn Williams

According to Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers are signing veteran RB Kerwynn Williams to a contract on Monday.

Williams was released by the Lions last week and has previously worked with Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians when the two were in Arizona.

Williams, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Colts back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Indianapolis before signing on to the Chargers’ practice squad.

The Cardinals would later sign him to their own practice squad and he spent four years in Arizona.

Williams signed on with the Chiefs in April of 2018 but was waived coming out of the preseason. The Lions signed him to a futures deal in early 2019.

In 2017, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and rushed for 426 yards on 120 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 93 yards receiving and one touchdown. He also contributed 326 kick return yards and 137 punt return yards.
