Ian Rapoport reports that the Buccaneers are signing LB/S Deone Bucannon to a contract.
- Adam Schefter also reports that Bucannon’s contract is a one-year “prove it” deal.
This reunites Bucannon and Buccaneers’ recently hired HC Bruce Arians, who he played under with the Cardinals.
Bucannon, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7,709,200 contract when the Cardinals picked up his fifth-year option last year.
Bucannon was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2018, Bucannon played in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was Pro Football Focus‘ No. 86-ranked linebacker out of 92 qualifying players.
