The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Friday that they’ve waived second-year running back Shaun Wilson.
This move leaves the Buccaneers with five running backs on their 90-man roster including Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones, Bruce Anderson, Andre Ellington and Dare Ogunbowale.
Wilson, 23, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Duke last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract, but was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder issue in November.
In 2018, Wilson appeared in five games for the Buccaneers and rushed for 29 yards on six carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with three receptions for five yards and no touchdowns.
