Per Darren Urban, the Cardinals have designated DT Jordan Phillips to return from injured reserve.
This opens up a three-week window for Phillips to practice with the team before Arizona has to add him to the active roster.
Phillips, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2015. He was in the final year of his contract when the Dolphins waived him in 2018 and he was later claimed off waivers by the Bills.
Phillips re-signed in Buffalo in 2019 on a one-year, $4.5 million deal. He signed with the Cardinals in 2020 on a three-year, $30 million deal.
In 2020, Phillips has appeared in all eight games for the Cardinals, recording 10 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one recovery and one pass defense. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 95 defensive tackle out of 130 qualifying players.
