Cardinals Drafting Kyler Murray At No. 1 Overall A “Done Deal”?

Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com reports that Cardinals new HC Kliff Kingsbury was telling people last night that it’s a “done deal” and they will select Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick.

Pauline adds that whether or not Kingsbury has the final say on the choice remains to be seen.

There has been a lot of buzz over the past week about the Cardinals taking Murray at No. 1 overall.

Kimberly Jones of NFL Network reported that people around the NFL believe “almost universally” that Murray will be the No. 1 overall pick by the Cardinals.

In terms of Murray, people are beginning to believe almost universally he will indeed be the No. 1 pick in this draft by the Arizona Cardinals,” Jones said. “In fact, teams picking in the top 10 believe they’ll have no chance of drafting Murray. He’s not the biggest quarterback in the world, but he is a very big presence at this combine.”

Murray weighed in at 5-foot-10, 207 pounds at the Combine, which is similar to Russell Wilson, so that should help his draft stock moving forward.

Murray made the decision to pursue an NFL career a few weeks ago, despite being drafted by the Oakland A’s last year. He’s now in the discussion to be a top-10 pick and could possibly go No. 1 overall.

During this three-year college career at Texans A&M and Oklahoma, Murray completed 68.7 percent of his passes for 5,098 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,369 and 12 touchdowns over the course of 28 games.
