Cardinals Release CB David Amerson

The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they’ve released veteran CB David Amerson.

Amerson, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Redskins back in 2013. Washington waived him during the 2015 season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Redskins.

Amerson signed four-year, $38 million extension with close to $18 million guaranteed with the Raiders back in 2016. However, he was released a year and later caught on with the Chiefs.

From there, Amerson returned to the Chiefs on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million last year, but wound up being released coming out of the preseason. The Cardinals later signed him to a contract.

In 2018, Amerson appeared in six games for the Cardinals and recorded 21 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
