The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday that they’ve released CB Marcus Williams to make room for newly acquired CB Jamar Taylor.
Williams, 27, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State back in May of 2014. He was waived from the Texans’ practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before later signing on with the Jets.
Williams played out the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contract before returning to the Jets on a one-year, $2.75-million restricted contract last year. However, the Jets waived him a few months into the season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Texans.
The Cardinals signed Williams to a contract a month ago.
In 2017, Williams appeared in 15 games for the Jets and Texans and recorded 18 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
